Jacket Material Of Fiber Optic Jumper

Fiberall provide many kinds of outer jacket for options. Other than PVC and LSZH, we also offer special jacket like Hytrel, PU and TPU, and flame etardant OFNR or OFNP jacket. As for some fiber optic jumper and pigtail used in outside, we also provide PE jacket.

Hytrel is thermoplastic polyester elastomer block copolymers comprising two structures of crystalline poly (butylene fumarate) and non crystalline long chain ethylene glycol. It is with very excellent strength and toughness, elasticity, deformation resistance, impact resistance, bending resistance, low temperature elasticity, anti hydrocarbon compound, etc.

TPU has wide hardness range (60HA-85HD), wear resistance, oil resistance and good elasticity, halogen free flame retardant TPU can also replace the soft PVC to meet the environmental requirements.

The outer sheath of the ordinary outdoor optical cable is made of PE sheath (polyethylene), which is flammable but not suitable for indoor optical cable.

Some environment like mine require jacket materials with more strict flameproof ability, the fiber cable should be with stronger ability to prevent flame spread, and cable structure also has an important role in fireproof, like low smoke and halogen-free materials (LSZH), high-temperature materials have also been used in fiber cable in order to control the flame.

In general, Fiberall fiber optic jumper and pigtail mainly use the following sheath materials: polyvinyl chloride material (PVC) , easy to burn and produce toxic gases; fireproof PVC, with same flammable and also toxic gases, but the fire point is higher than ordinary PVC materials; low smoke halogen (LSZH) type, seldom gas is produced during combustion and the burning speed is very slow and the fire point is higher than PVC.

OFNR or OFNP is flame etardant mark, they are with better performance than PVC and LSZH but they are not material name.
